The Historical Buddha :
There is the Unborn, Uncreated, Unoriginated. If there were not the Unborn, Uncreated, Unoriginated, there would be no escape from the born, the created, the originated. But because there is the Unborn, the Uncreated, the Unoriginated, there is an escape from the created, the born, the originated
Oh, with regards to this quote herein lies the rub (so-to-say) inasmuch that it is too easy to simply declare that “the self is empty”, that “the ‘I’ is superfluous” (or much like an afterthought to the raw sense data) or that “the ‘self’ is like an illusion” as this is merely an intellectual understanding eh ?
Because consider this : Who is the one seeking “escape” ? And from what ? It’s likely it’s from the unpleasantness of such as Boredom, Dissatisfaction and all the Afflictive Emotions eh ?
Well “OK” you may say, but now what ? If you’re seeing this then I’d suggest that the advice is to “stay with” the immediacy of direct experience eh ?
Please : Take a Look eh ? 💜
